Living with Long-Term Conditions

We offer specialist support and treatment to people with long-term health conditions (e.g. chronic pain, depression, long-COVID, cancer, diabetes) or medically unexplained symptoms. You might be feeling overwhelmed, sad, frustrated, guilty or flat. Perhaps you feel you've lost part of your identity, impacting on your sense of purpose and self-worth. We recognise how hard it can be to express what you need or feel to others, especially if you live with an 'invisible' health condition. One of our specialist therapists can help you to cope and manage the impact of your condition, and improve your mood and quality of life.

Mental Health and Trauma

When we experience traumatic events, the thoughts, feelings and memories we have about those events can get stuck. It can be hard to move on from them. We offer an effective therapy called Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (often called EMDR) for treating the symptoms of trauma. This could relate to traumatic incidents or childhood experiences and memories. Unresolved traumas or past experiences can feed into our present day problems, causing issues such as phobias, anxiety disorders, PTSD, confidence issues, and low self-esteem. In some instances, EMDR can also be used to help with physical health symptoms, such as chronic pain. The aim of EMDR is to help the brain to process distressing memories that have become stuck. This reduces their influence and allows you to develop ways to more effectively live your life.

Improving Health and Wellbeing

Are you looking to improve your physical health and wellbeing? Maybe you want to lose weight, be more active, quit smoking, or focus on making changes before or during pregnancy. We understand how challenging it can be to change to our behaviour, especially in the long-term. Our habits are ingrained over a long period of time and the environment around us often does not make it easy. Our behaviour change experts can help you to achieve your goals and, importantly, maintain them for long-lasting change and empowerment.

Perhaps you feel like there's a lack of meaning in your life, or you have a deep yearning to discover more about yourself and this existence. Perhaps you have had insight into something greater and are in the process of working out how to integrate this into your life. Often these feelings signal key opportunities for transformation and growth. They may indicate that something deep-seated is moving within you and a greater truth is about to reveal itself. Some people use terms like exstitential crisis, spiritual awakening, or kundalini awakening to describe these processes. In many ways, these descriptions are part of the same family; they are different paths and stages leading to the same destination. Guidance through this process can be invaluable and it is important to work with someone who understands this intrinsically. We offer a holistic and experienced mind-body approach to helping you navigate this journey, whilst drawing on established therapies to help you manage any practical elements or symptoms that arise on the way.

We deliver therapies and treatments based on the best available evidence and clinical guidelines. We draw from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), compassion-focussed therapy (CFT), and eye movement desensitisation reprocessing  (EMDR). In addition, we use specialist treatment approaches that are specific to physical health conditions and behaviour change. We regularly draw from and integrate somatic processing, mindfulness, meditation, and breathwork practices.
